Elder Law Attorney Natalie Boocher

Natalie J. Boocher

Natalie J. Boocher (pronounced “booker”) is an attorney at The Schwarz Law Office. She is a native of South Bend, Indiana. After graduating high school, she moved to Arizona to pursue her education and sunshine. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University in Tempe, and then went on to obtain her law degree in 2013. Natalie was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2014.

Throughout law school Natalie gained a great deal of legal experience by working at a general practice firm. It was during this time that she first became interested in elder law, including estate planning and probate matters. After law school, Natalie worked as a law-trained bailiff for the Honorable Edward W. Bassett of the Maricopa County Superior Court in probate court. This position allowed her to work on and observe Probate litigation, Guardianship, Conservatorship and Mental Health cases from the court’s perspective. These experiences taught her the value of proper planning and how important it is for a person’s hard-earned assets to be protected and distributed in accordance with their wishes.

Prior to moving back to her home state of Indiana, Natalie worked as an attorney at a law firm which practiced exclusively estate planning and elder law. She was then admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 2016. Since returning to Indiana, she has continued to focus her practice on all aspects of long-term care planning, including Medicaid, incapacity issues, special needs planning, wills, living trusts, real estate, durable powers of attorney, health care decision making, and nursing home issues. Natalie regularly assists individuals and their families in both planning for and filing Medicaid applications with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. Her goal is to make every family’s experience with the Medicaid system less stressful so their focus can be fully on taking care of their loved one.

While Natalie did not grow up on a farm, she has a strong understanding of farm issues and the dynamics of farming. She also understands the importance of protecting the family farm and does so regularly with her Medicaid planning for clients. As demonstrated by the below photos, she occasionally comes out and visits John on his farm during the harvest season to learn as much as she can about farming.

Natalie is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
